WESTBURY, NY — Author Marianna Buffolino is making a splash with her debut novel.
The Westbury resident penned “Fallacy: Entangled,” the first part of an expected trilogy.
It combines a love triangle with an organized crime family business.
“I’ve always been drawn to more like mafia movies and books,” Buffolino told Patch.
Her desire to create her first book came while she was bedridden in 2021 following an accident. As she constructed her narrative, Buffolino knew what she wanted.
“A lot of the romance novels typically have the same cliches and I like a little bit of everything,” she said.
Her themes and writing style worked as she was selected with third prize in the “Fiction/Romance/New Adult” category at The BookFest Awards.
“I’m very excited about it,” Buffolino said.
She’d also be excited if her books could be made into a TV show.
“I would love for that to happen,” she admitted. “There’s so much in the book that’s happening, you’d get the most out of it if it would turn into a series. That would be really cool.”
